Hi there, for those who don't know me, my name is Dug, I'm 42 (born in 1982) I live in Nuneaton but was born in Leicester, I've always been adventurous, such as riding on a elephant in Thailand to doing a tandem skydive from 12,000 ft (2.2 miles)
on my 30th birthday & swimming with a dolphin etc. however I wanted a real challenge
About my stroke
Unexpectedly in February 2022, I had a stroke, thankfully it didn't take my mobility or my speech but it did unfortunately take my far left monocular peripheral visionon my 30th birthday & swimming with a dolphin etc. however I wanted a real challenge
I am planning on walking from lands end to John o'groats, sleeping & eating as I go, there's no time limit or schedule, I will do as much walking as I want to do daily.
Although the most direct route is only 874 miles, I plan to divert to some places on the way, especially as i may not get another chance to do it again, if you've got any suggestions for diversions, please e-mail me at: DBWDetours@gmail.com

Every step we take together can make a difference for stroke survivors and their families.
As much as this walk is a personal challenge for myself it's also a chance to aid my recovery, I want to raise as much as possible to highlight the not so common signs of a stroke, helping more people survive & have full & healthy lives,
